The park also is popular for parties and other family events. The part has several pavilions and grills for grilling. The park receives lake breezes and can be very comfortable during the summer months. The park also has a baseball field, volleyball court, soccer fields, dog park, as well as hiking and trails.

The water gin is clear with a combination of underwater grass and shoreline grass that produce very well. Anglers can expect to catch Bluegill, shellcracker, bullhead catfish, crappie and lunker bass at this location. Big and Little Sand Lake are a chain. Little Sand Lake is 161 areas. Lake Serene is a small 44 acre lake.
